WATER, COLLECTIVE IDENTITY & MIND

Waters in the outsides

Each individual is like a little droplet, a ripple, a wave.

As droplets, ripples, waves with our own identities, we can initiate change, yet on our own we can only have a small impact in this world.

It is only when as droplets, ripples, waves we come together and begin to flow, forming rivers, seas and oceans, that extraordinary change can happen.

Waters in the insides

Our bodies and our minds are made of so much water that keeps weaving, flowing, changing, watering.

Do we ever stop to see the pebbles under the water?

We are bodies of water…

Can we slow down and realize the value of water?

In this exhibition, Himanshi Parmar uses a series of images and texts to reflect on the external and internal relationships that we form with water; as a connecting fluid with the potential to mobilize radical social change, and as a constituting part of our sentient being.

How can we weave together our collective identities to form oceans that engender radical transformation?

And if we do not slow down our inner flows of ideas, will we ever be able to see our thoughts, emotions and feelings clearly?

Himanshi is a multi disciplinary designer and artist working from a small studio in Pune, India. She primarily works on projects supporting social, environmental or humanitarian development. She strongly believes that physical balance through activities like slackline and yoga help her find internal balance which reflects naturally in her work and life.

Through her work she wishes to get her audience to feel first and then think with a call to action towards change while leaving them with a sense of wonder.
