'Virtual water flows' describe the amounts and ways in which water goes into a cycle of production, use and disposal of a particular product. Such as, a crop, a good or a service.
Thinking with virtual water flows allow us to reflect on our urban-rural connections, on the global and local relations enabled and disabled through the metabolism of goods, food, trade that are part of our everyday life.
In Pravah, wastewater produced in urban Pune re-shapes an uneven (waste)waterscape. It allows the creation of economic growth and wellbeing while it also creates patterns of uncertainties and vulnerabilities as it contaminates the soil, animals as well as people's bodies.
